Region's
First Digital Hospital
All your tests and other medical records will be stored
on computer. This means your surgeon can look at them at any time—even in the operating room. It’s easy to compare test results over time. And when your surgeon has a conference call with your family doctor, they can both see the same images on their computers while they discuss your health.
While you’re in the hospital, your computerized records are an extra safety measure. You’ll even have a bar code on your ID bracelet. We will scan your bracelet and your medications to make sure you’re
getting the right medicine in the right dose at the right time.

A whole team taking care of you
You’re choosing a surgeon, but you’re
getting a whole team. During your operation, your surgeon is in charge from start
to finish. As soon as your
surgery is completed, a team of surgeons, cardiologists, pulmonologists, physician assistants, nurses
and consultants will care for you. Everyone has special education in caring for heart and lung patients.
Other members of your care team are your physical therapist and your counselor.
Heart surgery patients receive counseling because depression is a concern after heart
surgery. We also can arrange for visiting
nurses or other care once you go home. |
